Categories: Bread
Yield: 12 Servings

1tbBaking powder
2cFlour
2tbCold margarine
1 1/3cMilk

Preheat oven to 450 F. Very lightly grease large baking sheet. In large bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Rub or cut in margarine, until mixture is crumbly. Make well in center of mixture, add 1 cup milk and mix until dough barely holds together, even if you have to press it together with your hands. Add a little extra milk, if necessary. Turn onto floured surface and knead lightly just until smooth. Roll out with floured pin or pat dough to make a round about 3/4 inch thick. Cut rounds with a 2 inch cookie cutter. You can make a variety of shapes if you like. Arrange 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart on baking sheet. Brush tops lightly with milk. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until well risen and golden. Serve with margarine.
